Biogas is a renewable gas that is produced from organic material which decomposes in an oxygen-free environment.
Biogas as vehicle gas consist mainly of methane. The remaining constituents are lesser amount of carbo dioxide, water vapor and small amounts of hydrogen sulphride. The following table shows the composition of vehicle gas according to Swedish standards.

i A rough estimate can be obtained by "subtraction", where an average for gas oil content is calculated by subtracting the amount of removed oil in the Coalescing filter from the amount of added oil in the gasdistribution systems compressors and then divide by the amount of gas delivered [5, 6].
